Description
Dear Support,
our client has big problems using Ansel fields - and we can't figure out the cause: For example, if she uploads three or four images into a field, it suddenly looks like 8, 14 or 24 images have been uploaded because so many "image-places" are created. But only in the three or four fields are there really pictures - the rest just show the icon to scale the pictures.
If you then save the entry, the Ansel field will leave, for example, 24 places for images, 21 of which are empty and only 3 occupied.
She uses a current Firefox and a current macos. I have screenshots of the phenomenon.
best regards, matthias

Hi, sorry for the delay. I'm still trying to catch up from being at EE Conf for 3 days.
I will definitely need screenshots, and preferably video as I cannot replicate this behavior.
I'd also like to get access to an environment where this is happening if I could.

hi tj,
We can now better isolate the phenomenon: The fields multiply only in Anselfelder, which are in Grids. As soon as we switch and save between German and English with Publisher, the number of fields is doubled. The original field retains its original content, but all "new" fields are simply empty.
If the grid has an Anselfield, it becomes 2 after the first save, 4 after the second save, 8 after the third, and so on.
Brian from Publisher wrote me the following:
"Matthias, this is definitely an Ansel problem. The fieldtype needs to support Publisher, not the other way around. I can’t natively add and support integration for all other fieldtypes into Publisher, its just too much to handle. I don’t think TJ has added Publisher support to Ansel, and it sounds like he doesn’t plan on adding support until version 3 of Ansel."
I will send you some screenshot via email to illustrate the problem.
Kind regards, matthias

Ahh, you're using Publisher. Ansel does not support Publisher at this time.

I have a TODO item on a list to find out what it would take to support Publisher for Ansel 3. I have not yet begun work on Ansel 3 so it's hard to say when support for Publisher would come.
