Cleaning up the Ansel-Folders?
#126 opened by Büro Ballmann Weber
Description
hi tj,
regarding the folder structure of ansel: During the development we had the case that our client uploaded many images and later replaced them with others, so that now there are a lot of images in the directories that are no longer needed. So what would be the best way to recalculate all the images currently in use and delete the others?
kindest regards, matthias

So long as you've followed the recommended procedure and given Ansel separate upload and save directories, Ansel should take care of that directory itself (the save directory is not considered a user-serviceable directory).
For the upload directory, it's a regular directory in EE and as such, like when using any directory in EE, there's no way to know what files are in use and what files are not in use, and what may or may not be using those files. You can make some educated decisions, or run queries to try to figure it out, but cleaning up directories in EE that users upload files to is beyond the scope of what Ansel does (at least at this time).
